Financial Literacy Is Not Financial Advice

Knowledge can improve the questions you ask, but it does not produce a personalized recommendation by itself.

Financial literacy includes concepts such as budgeting, interest, inflation, credit, diversification, risk, and planning. Financial advice applies facts about a specific person, jurisdiction, goal, time horizon, resources, and product to a consequential decision. They are not interchangeable.

What a reflection can do

  • Show which concepts felt familiar or uncertain
  • Prompt you to check assumptions and source quality
  • Separate knowledge questions from preference questions
  • Help prepare questions for an appropriately qualified professional

What it cannot do

An online result cannot recommend an asset, allocation, lender, credit product, insurance policy, tax action, trade, or level of risk. It does not know your full circumstances and is not a suitability assessment.

For a real decision, use current primary information and qualified advice appropriate to your country and situation. Financial rules, protections, taxes, and products can change.
